Places - Benson

Benson, MN

A recent newspaper article in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune featured a story on retired St. Olaf professor and historian Odd Lovoll's new book, "Norwegians on the Prairie: Ethnicity and the Development of the Country Town." This book, due on the shelves in August, talks extensively about Benson, a western Minnesota town that was founded in 1870 and was settled predominantly by Norwegian immigrants, and the book traces the roots of Norwegian-American pride.
