North St. Paul, MN
In 1972, the city of North St. Paul adopted the “snowman” as their official city logo. To accompany that, why not have a giant snowman statue as well? Built in 1974 by a local resident named Lloyd Koesling, the snowman was originally located on 7th Avenue and Margaret Street, but was moved to a more visible and prominent location along Highway 36 in 1990. According to the city of North St. Paul’s web site, the statue is 44 feet tall and weighs around 20 tons.
