Quirky Stuff - Fantastic Fish Houses

Plymouth, MN

Here in Minnesota, we love to fish year round. During the winter, many people build ice shanties, or fish houses, to offer shelter from the elements when fishing through the ice in the dead of winter. On Medicine Lake in Plymouth during the months of January and February, you can find the Art Shanty Projects, an art exhibition of some of the most ornate fish houses you have ever seen. Surely, these works of art are the envy of every die hard ice fisherman!

Definitely sheds a new light on ice fishing. Being a winter couch potato and adverse to cold I never viewed ice fishing in such an interesting light!! Thanks

Yeah, those folks know how to ice fish, Baron. When I visited this display, it was more than just an art show...some people actually were fishing!
